Tillhörande texter	Källa For the Exhibition MONEY! at the Economy Museum Text Dukes Johan of Finland and Karl of Södermanland, brothers of Erik XIV, had square-cut coins minted in 1568. These were made of silver that Erik had paid in compensation, known as “blodsbot”, blood money, after having some of his Sture family opponents executed. They were issued as 8, 4, 2 and 1 mark coins. On the obverse (front), we see the initials I and C entwined in the band of a crowned vase (a sheaf of branches or grain). The other side shows the denomination and three crowns. Mintmaster: Mickel Hansson. The Vadstena mint.
