Arrhenius "Summary concering Pottery" beskrivs godstypen:
"(C) Coarse ware interspersed with richly micaceous fine-grined sand. The grain size of the admixture varies from 3-0,4 mm, with a predominance of grain sizes less than 1 mm. In the type example the grain density on average was 20 per square centimetre. " se fig. 131.
Definitionen är med andra ord ett gods med normal andel av finkornig (sand)magring.
